Grand Fenetra

Grand Fénétra

June and July 2020

The Fénétra is originally a purely Toulouse festival, dating back to the time of the Gallos-Romans.

The Grand Fénétra is now a traditional festival in Toulouse.

Participants in traditional costume perform their dances and music in various public squares of the city, then converge on the Capitole for the official inauguration.

This is followed over several days by traditional dance, song and music performances by groups from France and elsewhere.

It takes place every year on the last weekend of June or the first weekend of July, from Saturday to Tuesday.

During this traditional festival, participants in traditional Toulouse costume show off their dances and music in various public squares in the city, then converge on the Capitole for the official inauguration. This is followed by several days of traditional dances, songs and music.

Unlike Carnival, a universal festival, the FERETRA or FENETRA is a purely Toulouse festival.
